FACT Oregon 2019 All Ability Tri4Youth

We were thrilled to produce the video for the 2019 FACT Oregon All Ability Tri4Youth. We began our relationship with FACT when they were the recipient of the 2017 Spotlight video, and since then they’ve brought us back each year to film their All Ability Tri4Youth event. It’s the only barrier-free triathlon on the West Coast, where youth and young adults with and without disabilities compete individually or on teams in a 50-meter swim, 2-mile bike ride, and 1/2-mile run.

It’s truly an incredible resource for our community, and such a fun day to be a part of. Watch this years video below, and get involved in next year’s Tri4Youth via the FACT Oregon website.

A Trip to Mexico with Modern Adventure

In this Modern Adventure trip to Mexico with chef Joshua McFadden we eat and drink our way through Oaxaca and Mexico City. View the sights and sounds through the eyes of a traveler in these videos highlighting some of the best food and drink finds in Mexico.

Watch the trip recap, learn about cutting, fermenting, and drinking Mezcal in a three-part series, and meet Joshua’s favorite burger.

Finding the Story with Nostrana

The story of Nostrana begins in Joseph, Oregon, and follows one farmer’s potato crop from ground to gnocchi. This project started as an about video, and it quickly became apparent that what Nostrana is really about is the farmers producing the best ingredients, which are then cultivated into exceptional food. The way this project developed is what we are all about; finding the genuine story of a business and sharing that story with the world.

Collaborating for the Planet

We love collaborating with like-minded businesses, and we love it even more when it benefits the planet. See what we put together in our partnership with other Portland members of 1% for the Planet, including Brew Dr. Kombucha, Portland Bee Balm, Bambu, Portland Design Works, and Goodwell Co to share how 1% for the Planet and its members use the power of collective impact to help save the planet.

Announcing our Spotlight 2018 Recipient!

Eco Ecology in Classrooms - One Hundred Seconds Video Production

Each year we give away a free video to a local non-profit organization as a part of our Spotlight initiative. After receiving dozens of nominations and hundreds of votes, the recipient of our One Hundred Seconds: Spotlight 2018 campaign is Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors (ECO)!

ECO is a nonprofit that inspires elementary school students to connect to our natural world by providing hands-on ecology enrichment programs.

ECO is made up of educators and volunteers who work together to bring Ecology Programs to Portland Metro area schools. They share a passion for connecting students to the natural world, building science literacy and environmental awareness in the community we love! We’re excited to show the video later next year!

Meet Our Past One Hundred Seconds Spotlight Recipients!

While at FACT Oregon, it was impossible not to feel how their passion for inclusivity powers every single thing that they do. From their person-centered planning process to the annual Tri4Youth All Ability Triathlon, we learned about all the ways FACT Oregon is supporting not only individuals experiencing a disability, but their families, educators, and community members as well.

During production we felt the power of relationships between all those who visit, work, and volunteer with the organization. We learned how food justice is about so much more than access to healthy food and helped them communicate that to the public. Sisters of the Road continues to empower our community by giving them access to and ownership of their food systems.
